Madeleine Pattern Design
This screen printed repeat pattern design was created with 4 color separations, hand mixed colors and a hand drawn motif. It was aligned and repeated to create a seamless yard of fabric. This design was created to pair with my 2017 Art2Wear crochet collection following the program’s annual theme, The Art of Deja Vu. My collection, Madeleine, explored the theme of food and memory. This pattern design contains several elements in homage to Proust’s Madeleine Moment — in which a bite of a madeleine cookie dipped in tea reels his mind back to vivid memories of his childhood.
